On June 28th, we concluded our second Gender Equity and Reconciliation workshop during South Africa’s Youth Month with an inspiring and dynamic group of 18 participants from the Volmoed Youth Leadership Training Programme (VYLTP) at Volmoed Retreat Centre near Hermanus, Cape Town. We as a Gender Equity and Reconciliation community are once again inspired by the courage of young people to actively seek to transform and heal their lives and communities. During the workshop, these amazing women and men stepped into unchartered territory… You explored your inner being, shared your vulnerability, your fears, your hopes, and held witness to one another with such love and courage. As a facilitation team, we are deeply honoured to have held the space for your stories. May you continue to speak your truth with courage and compassion and inspire others to do the same. Heartfelt appreciation to Edwin Leslie Arrison for the invitation to offer this powerful transformative process during VYLTP’s Wholeness and Healing week and for welcoming us wholeheartedly. We are also grateful to Selina Palm and Xolile Zulani for your support throughout the three days. And thank you to the rest of the facilitation team: Lucille Meyer, Louis Laurens Botha Gaum, Zanele Khumalo and Lesley Thomas.
