A wonderful workshop took place at the Chrysalis Academy in Cape Town, bringing 16 young leaders (10 men and 6 women) together. Participants had powerful, even life-changing experiences, as they bravely spoke their truth and listened deeply to one another’s stories.
Some feedback received from participants:
“… the workshop was powerful. It made me look at things differently the way I was looking at life. I am not feeling the same. I am feeling relieved and free. Before the workshop I was having things that I never share but now I did and I am healed.”
“I will never forget these three days for as long as I live. I feel utterly blessed to have been a part of this group.”
The space to explore this vital work with the staff and students at Chrysalis Academy is a huge gift, for which the workshop facilitators, GenderWorks, and Gender Equity and Reconciliation International are extremely grateful! GenderWorks hopes to hold a follow-up session for participants soon. Very much gratitude to the courageous participants, and to facilitators Emma Oliver, Mandy Antzoylatos, Rob McLeod, and Laurie Gaum. Many thanks also to facilitator-in-training Pro Zulani for supporting the facilitation throughout the workshop, as well as Vuyo Koyana, Shireen Mukadam and Tristan Johannes for coming to support at various points during the three-days! Deep appreciation and love to you all.
