We’re delighted to be presenting again at the Parliament of the World’s Religions in Chicago this year.
This workshop introduces a remarkable breakthrough for transforming gender-based conflicts and bias in Christian churches and communities. Developed and tested on six continents over 30 years, Gender Equity and Reconciliation International (GERI) implements unique programs for men, women, and people of all genders to speak their truth without shame or blame, and to collaborate together to reach a place of mutual understanding, resolution, and often forgiveness.
The GERI methodology applies Archbishop Desmond Tutu’s principles of truth and reconciliation to longstanding gender conflicts, and Archbishop Tutu launched a formal partnership with GERI in 2013. “The truth shall set you free” becomes a living reality in GERI programs for Christian communities, and has led to major breakthroughs not only between women and men, but also for resolving highly divisive conflicts between “queer” and “straight” believers in affirming Christian congregations.
