Fr. Thomas Keating is now in eternal silence with God. He passed away last night at 10:07 pm at St. Joseph’s Abbey in Spencer, Massachusetts, where he has been residing for a few months. Prior to that Thomas was based at St. Benedict’s Monastery in Snowmass, Colorado.

The impact on me intellectually, emotionally and spiritually were quite profound. To call my experience transformational is not overstated … I experienced a significant paradigm shift, and left with my humility deeply reaffirmed. More importantly, I left with a deep and passionate commitment to play an active role in bridging the divide between women and men to effect immediate and long term change.

We laughed, we cried, and we bonded around our individual experiences of deep wounding and personal shame — sharing the beginnings of our journey towards reconciliation between our genders.
